As usual, don't bother clicking,
The video is a smokescreen, it's existence is to have clickbaity title and then shill for a bunch of meaningless, hollow, terrible pseudo-RPGs. Mophidious and Free League are featured. Also a ton of games I never heard of so definitely trash that belongs on itch and nowhere else. I can even tell by how he does pitching for each game how absolutely terrible it is. He also had Pirate Borg in there, which has a couple good mechanics but isn't exactly worth switching from a campaign game like D&D from. The core idiocy of this video is lost on the audience he has, considering the comment section. That being you can't supplant a monolith game like D&D with some trash that doesn't do what D&D does but better.
For that you actually have to know what it does well, and expand upon that. He's too busy decrying stuff that shouldn't be decried. The shit he complains about in D&D 5E is shit that's existed practically since OD&D. Stuff like races being standard fantasy races and then nonsensically he complains that there are too many races and the field is muddy narratively.
This is all gay shit because this dude doesn't even know how to play RPGs right. He probably has ADD considering how often his avatar changes in the video (I recognize he did it as a bit to keep changing with the games he was presenting but still it's a pretty dumb bit).
Two-for-One special today:

This is a video by someone who's sunk a lot of money into different OSR games. This is the sunk cost fallacy and it's very VERY prevalent in the OSR sphere. You really DON'T need more than three OSRs: One to play OD&D with, one to play AD&D with, and one to play BECMI with. None of the other games have a foothold or frankly a spirit that needs to be emulated. It's just these three, and the community mostly knows it (B/X is the biggie but B/X is effectively the BE from BECMI).
Firstly he says he likes playing OSR style games, states OSRIC, sets down a shitty POD of the Rules Cyclopedia. Next he mentions the obvious grift of Old School Essentials and sets down the Advanced Fantasy Player's Tome, which is a book that contains 1/2 Moldvay goodness, 1/2 Norman retardation. Then he drops this little brain dropping along with a copy of the 5E PHB:
"Having been spoiled by the goodness of 5E with it's intuitive mechanics... with the roll high... and this roll... and having played 4th edition before that with all of it's warts... but it was more intuitive... little bit harder to die but not stupidly hard..." - Tell me you're a stammering idiot without telling me you're a stammering idiot.
He then says that his brainrotted 5E players can't find any shiny keys to watch jangle in front of their faces with OSR style games so they get bored. He comes to the wrong conclusion that he needs something that mixes new wave garbage and proper D&D.
I hate that YouTube's algorhythm brings these fucking losers into my periphery.
