This is going to be a short one, but a hot take, and hotter as it goes along. RPGs are RPGs. CRPGs are CRPGs. MMORPGs are MMORPGs. There is no 'TTRPGs'. This is a term invented by assholes trying to cuck the original owners of the term. Get fucked. We were here first, it's our goddamn term. You don't get to change it just because other shit exists now. You can invent your own terms. We don't need any additions to our terms to distinguish them. Other media trying and failing to take up the challenge of creating a RPG in another media can have their lame ass specific terms. RPGs are RPGs. Full stop.
I was actually reminded this by something that is a much bigger deal, the absolute idiocy that is the word "cis". This is not a word that needs to exist. "Well how do you define a person who was assigned male at birth and identifies as male later?" That's really simple - it's a man. If pressed to further describe (which I wouldn't suggest) I would say "a normal man". That's because men were men first. The frankly new phenomena of trans people deserve to have the added term because they are different and therefore NOT (normal) men or women. I can also easily define what a woman is.
And trans women shouldn't be competing with them in sports (because trans women AREN'T women). This isn't phobic, it's merely an explanation of how words work. We didn't start calling carriages "horsed carriages" when horseless carriages became a thing. We don't call a hamburger a "cheeseless cheeseburger." We already have a word for that so we use it. Accept what you want to be, or don't, it's not important to me. But what you will be in everyone else's eyes is a 'Trans <sex>' not simply '<sex>'. Those people already exist, and deserve their autonomy from your group you've elected to be in (regardless of motivation). Everyone will continue considering you trans <sex> regardless, up to and possibly including if science eventually catches up and allows you to rewrite your chromosomes to be your 'identified gender'. It'll then be "man" and "post-gen trans man".
Men will always remain men.
