Daggerheart is the thing everyone's talking about now. I feel like I don't need to know anything about it because Candela Obscura was a shit sandwich with dipshit sauce. The people who would ghost design Daggerheart were picked by the same people who picked who would ghost design Candela Obscura. Garbage in, garbage out. Same old shit, different day. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I only know a couple things about Daggerheart and it's already sold me off of it. But I didn't need to. You can see something is shit far ahead of time, nowadays.
First thing: RPG Game with cards AND tokens baked in. But not cards necessary for the game, or part of the core resolution mechanic. This smacks of blatant commercialism. Giving an audience toys to blind them to the fact the game is unplaytested trash for retards.
Second thing: I heard one of the "innovations" for the game is that there's no initiative system in combat. Just go when you want. Which is the most egregious example of solving a problem by not designing a solution and flipping people the bird while saying "if you don't like it, you're obviously shit at the whole gaming thing, eh?" when the opposite is true. This is lazy non-design that helps nobody do anything and actually adds a new problem into the game that other game systems don't have during combat - a need for the GM to monitor spotlight hogging. And not the mechanical stupid spotlight the game pretends it arbits. The actual spotlight. A real game designer understands why initiative systems exist. It's trendy to remove important systems in RPGs and pretend the result is genius. But if you take a urinal cake out of a urinal all you'll get is a smelly bathroom and dirty hands. Some things exist for a reason and removing that thing just makes you look stupid and garners worse results. The designers of Daggerheart are obviously stupid. Why would anyone want to buy a game designed by stupid people?
This decision alone is enough to call this game DOA and JWF. It's sold out everywhere, and like ShadowDark and so many other heartless unplaytested pieces of trash before it there will be a contingent of morons who play it and pretend to enjoy themselves or pretend to play it and glance at it on a shelf while trying to justify it's existence to smarter people online saying it's an unplaytested trash game for retards. These two groups of people are both said retards.
There's not much else to say about it. Save your money and play something that wasn't made by idiots for idiots.
